Last Post of 2010

2010 was a year of changes, challenges and plenty of rewards.
I can't wait to see what 2011 is going to bring :)

Thank you God for blessing 2010 and thank you for getting me through the challenges and changes. I love you. :)

Holy [Insert Word Here]!!

I can't describe it.
I just can't describe this feeling!

I just can't believe all the wonderful, crazy, stressful, amazing, adventurous 2010 I've had.

January: Was the start of my last semester at Sierra Community College
February: Was the 4th anniversary of my grandfather's passing
March: My mommy's birthday and last midterms of community college
April: Easter Break and getting to spend time with my grandmother before my move
May: Graduation from Sierra Community College with 2 AA Degrees (Deaf Studies and Liberal Arts with Music Emphasis); and having a going away family party
June: Getting ready for my first move to Idaho; spending time with all my friends and another going away friends/church party
July: Awesome 4th of July party at my uncle's house and my big move to Idaho
August: A quiet, boring, slow end to summer. (Yay for the peace before craziness!); First day of Northwest Nazarene University on the 31st
September: One year since I had been depressed. Most people don't really know this about me, but for whatever reason in September 2009 I was very, very depressed. The only reason why I had to get up and do anything was because I had to. I had to go to school, I had to go to work. (The best parts of that month were the kids at Emmaus Church!) This was also the part of the semester when I got really, really sick and all I wanted was to hear my mom's voice....so I called her....it made us both cry. And this was when my grades started to slip
October: First midterms at Northwest Nazarene, and my grades continued to slip because of overloaded schedule of school and work. I don't recommend 18 hour days. Halloween was fun. I decorated my grandmother's house and dressed up like a vampire and passed out candy
November: I stopped working for Target to try and save my grades. Although I quit work, I still don't know where those hours went to, because it seemed like I didn't have an extra 22 hours of nothing...I was really glad that I was able to quit and focus on school. Also, Thanksgiving was awesome! Just about everyone from my mom's family was there and my parent's and my sister came up to celebrate!
December: December is always my favorite time of the year. Not only because my birthday is during this month, but because Christmas and the cooler weather and all the memories of my childhood always come back to me. I turned 22 this year. :O I couldn't believe it and it was the first time I wasn't celebrating with my twin sister. Also, first finals of Northwest Nazarene....I hope I did okay.....I just barely passed my classes before the semester ended and I studied as much as I possibly could have on my finals......Having 5 finals takes a lot out of a person.
Also, I got this amazing opportunity to volunteer for CB (Commissioned Believers) Deaf Ministry to be their Adoptions Coordinator and Facebook Manager and I accepted it! I am SO excited and I can't wait until I officially start with the ministry!

I am also going to start an American Sign Language Club at Northwest Nazarene and work toward raising money for different deaf schools and orphanages in Africa that are being sponsored by CB Deaf Ministry.

During this time of Thanksgiving and Christmas I am just so excited to share this with you!

A Time of Reflection

I can't believe that this is the last week of school, then finals. :O
The time here has flown by I can't even being to believe that!
I am very excited to be going home for Christmas to see family I haven't seen in what seems like a very long time. I am also excited because I am going to start volunteering for CB Deaf Ministry in between school (which won't be much, but I'm looking forward to it!)

CraZY!

Wow. I had totally forgotten about this blog since school and work started :/ I'm totally slacking.

To quickly catch up:

I am already half way done with my first semester at Northwest Nazarene University.

I am quitting my job at the end of next week because I can lo longer do all my homework and school and working... I will miss Target, but it is time to move on.

I am going to be starting an American Sign Language Club at NNU, and there are a few interested people already. Our first "formation" meeting is going to be on November 2nd (yes mid-term election day) and we are going to figure out the vision for the club. :D This is very exciting and I am so glad that I am going to be able to do something worthwhile with the time here at school :D

Official: 1 Month in Idaho

Technically, that was yesterday....but thats okay. :)
Each day I am here, I get more excited about what God is doing here. :D

Yesterday, I called Stone, Hunter and Lori (if you don't know, Stone and Hunter are the boys that I mentor through Emmaus Church, and Lori is their AWESOME mom!) Anyway, it was so awesome to hear their voices! And I can't wait to see them around Christmas!
And I was able to talk to Kathryn, Emmaus' Children's pastor!! So great to connect with people I "ditched" for the Work of God.
It's also so great to hear my parent's voices....:) I miss them *HUGS to you mom and dad*

And I hope I will be able to call more people tomorrow...I have such great intentions, but some never get done....like calling people....
God help me to remember to call the people I need to call for, and help me to remember to read the Bible too. In Jesus' name. Amen.

I probably should be blogging more, but I've been lazy about it.

Life right now has been slow....no work, no school, just doing whatever whenever with my grandma until my schedule of work starts in a week. It's been so relaxing and I am SO greatful that God has allowed me some time for doing "nothing" although I should be studying the Bible more than I am...it's been a slow process studying the book of 1Sam. I am enjoying it a lot. :) And I can't wait until I get into 2Sam.

Idaho is an awesome place! (And for those who said "Why Idaho?" Because Idaho is awesome, that's why!)

For the first time in my life, I get some freedom and privacy like I never have before. (Some days I have been using it better than others) Although, I can say I have been doing a lot more talking/meditation to God lately. :)

And I know why God called me to Idaho, specifically:

Not so much to mentor/minister to the Deaf here, like I originally interpreted, but to be here for my grandmother, to show her God's grace and compassion by serving her and going to church with her (she is not saved, but goes to church and Bible study).

My grandmother's heart is softening, and I am so glad to see that. :)Because she never stepped inside a church when I was younger.

And I am getting connected to the church my grandma, her sister (my great-aunt) and my great-uncle go to. :) Grace Bible Church is a great church, very welcoming people and staff and I am going to start helping them with their children's ministry. :) Kids are awesome!! All kids are awesome!!

My NNU is all figured out, I just need my finalized schedule and then I'll know what books and stuff I need.

My work transfer finally came through, altough there was a hiccup with that. The person I needed to keep in contact with during the process went on a two week vacation, but that's okay, this extra time of quiet is a really great thing.

:) I just can't say enough about Idaho...

But I do miss my family, they called today, and I was really great to hear their voices and I do hope my dad gets his pilot's license back so they can visit more ;)

The Start of my Immersion in Idaho

Today was a really great day and I am SO glad I was able to hang out with my grandmother.

Today, we went to a Bible Study. Great study. It was about the garbage and baggage we carry with us...

It reall made me think about all the stuff in my life that is really holding me back from being the Christian I was meant to be...

Sunday, I went to church with my great-aunt (my grandma's sister) Bev. I had a really great time. And even though I have only been to one church here, it could be the place where I worship... I am praying to God to see if this is the church...

On my own.....

My parents left this morning around 10am (Mountain Time)...I stood out in front and waved until I could no longer see them.

I didn't cry until about 2pm...I decided to work nonstop and when I took a break I cried. It's so hard to think about it right now...I miss my family so much already and I saw them this morning....this is going to be harder than I thought.

Thank you SO much for your prayers, if you weren't praying I would have been crying all day.

First Post From Idaho

Wow...this is it. Doing what I am called to do.
It's all surreal right now.
I feel awesome.
I feel excited.
I feel a sense of accomplishment.
I feel a sense of uncertainty...
I feel like shaking...

But God is SO GOOD!

GOD, give me the strength to continue to do this, even when I hit that brick wall...I know it is coming. Let me bounce off the wall and over it. In Jesus' name. Amen.


And I wanted to thank you to those who are reading this blog, thank you for your prayers, love, support and send-off.

Last Blog from California

Okay, this day is kinda weird. As a good friend of mine, Tim, says "Bittersweet." I finally understand what that means...

I can't believe that it's finally here! I've been talking about this since senior year of high school and I am finally doing it after 4 years! GOD IS SO GOOD!

Well, here we go! (Off to finish packing the rest of my clothes, then off to get plenty of rest. I drive tomorrow....)

It's been a while

Boy, I need to get a better handle on this blogging thing, or I am going to be scaring a lot of people when they see I haven't posted in awhile....(do I see a practical joke coming up?.......)

So, I am almost packed. Too bad I can't bring more up there, but I will survive with just the basic necessities (ie. clothes, bathroom stuff, school stuff, and a few recreational stuff (ie. scooter, skateboard, dartboard))

This is definately going to be the hardest thing I have ever done, but I know that it will also be the most spiritually rewarding. :) And I know God sustains me, so I'm going to be doing A LOT of prayer and talking to God...my grandma will think I am crazy o_O

Anyway, thanks to everyone who has and will be praying for me and my new adventure.

And YES: I AM GOING TO MISS EVERYONE FROM CALIFORNIA!!

1 month

Wow, time has been flying SO fast that I haven't been able to really think about it. And my sister actually reminded me of what today is:6/9/10. I officially move to Idaho in 1 month.

I cried last night thinking about it. I have started packing a few things and I took everything off my walls near my bed. It was weird just looking at a white wall as I was trying to go to sleep. Even the Christmas lights I had as decorations are down, except for one strand of green ones still up.

I've got most of my school necessities together, and some items which will (hopefully be keeping me from getting "terminally home-sick".

It's all so crazy...

For 4 years now, I have been talking about Deaf Ministry and me going up to Idaho for school, but I cannot believe that it's all happening, and I just have 1 month left here in California.

It's just so crazy...

Father God, I pray that you give me courage to prevent me from "throwing in the towel". Father, I know it's not going to be easy. Thank you for giving me this direction in my life. In Jesus' name. Amen!

Role Playing

Okay, I know this is going to be a weird post.

Lately, I have discovered the wonderful and exciting world of Role Playing, epecifically Role playing in the magical world of Harry Potter on Facebook.

Yes, this sounds weird, but it's a great creative way to meet people and share a common interest.

Random? You bet
Totally nerdy? Absolutely
A complete waste of time? Definitely not


Before I discovered this little "world" which consists of about 75 people or so, I was asking God for a creative outlet....and this came up....although probably not what most people would think this is from God, but if there are other role players who don't know Christ, who look at my page and see that I'm Christian, then that's planting a seed. :) Then I know I've done something to helping bring people to Christ.

Sierra College Graduate of 2010

Yep. That's me!! I am an official graduate of the 2010 class at Sierra College!! WHOO!!

I can't believe it...

I can't believe that in 5 days I am going to be a community college graduate with 2 AA degrees (1 in Deaf Studies and 1 in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in music). I can't believe that I am moving to Idaho in 2 months. I can't believe that everything is finally coming into place so that I can do what God wants me to do. I can't believe that I am going to be a Communication major and Bible minor. I can't believe that I am going to be a missionary to the Deaf. I can't believe it...God help me to believe it and do it. In Jesus' name. Amen.

I can't believe that today is Mother's day, I can't believe it's almost Father's Day....I can't believe it!

Sadness

Oh my. I am SO sad.

Since yesterday, all I can think about is my boss Kim Sharp...she is my manager at Target. A couple of days ago, her daughter, who I went to school with, died in a car accident. Prayer is needed for her and her family.

Father God, I pray for the Sharps. Father you know the situation of the car accident, you know everyone in the family and friends who are affected by the tragity of Tessa's death. Father, I ask that you place your hand on Kim and John and Kim's children and grandchild who will not remember his aunt Tessa. Father, although I really only know John and Kim, I ask that you be with Tessa's siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. Father I pray forgiveness and I pray that you bless them. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayer for this family is greatly appriciated.

Blessings

For a while, I had been working very little and people were telling me that I should look for a different job so that I could get more money.....when I started my current job, I was losing 75 cents an hour.

Then Spring break happened at the beginning of the month and I was worried how small my check was going to be...but when I came back from my week vacation to one of my grandma's houses I was shocked to see my hours increased. I thought at first it was because I was gone for the week and it was to balance out my check so it wouldn't be super small. But ever since then, I have been working over 30 hours a week (with my 14 units of school) and although hectic....I have been able to do it...and I am very thankful that I am able to get more money for my move and transfer to Northwest Nazarene University.

Father God, I pray and thank you for giving me the extra hours so that I have enough money to move and do the things that you want me to do. Father I pray that you bless my family and keep them strong as I move away and I pray that you keep me strong so that I don't get to the point of getting so homesick that I move back home and abandon the calling you have for me. Thank you for everything you have done, the encouraging, EVERYTHING. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Easter (Spring) Break

I had one of the best times in a LONG time and I was able to get away from my house and from work for a whole week!! (I'm not trying to brag.) I was able to go to my grandmother's house (the grandma in California)....I am SO glad that I was able to spend an entire week with her, because it was my last opportunity to spend all that time with her before my moveto Idaho. And I was able to spend some time with my cousin Wyatt, who I haven't spend quality time in many years. ;)

This was a very blessed weekend for me and I pray now that I don't get insane with the HUGE increase in hours at work.

I'm fired...

Okay....not fired from work, but I'm firing myself from Lent. This is my 3rd year of Lenting and I cannot keep my promise. :'( I try so hard and I can't even do that! (sigh) I couldn't even read the Bible everyday :'( (heavier sigh).

God! I come to you now and beg you to have patience with me! I know that I definately don't deserve what you have done for me and I am eternally greatful for ALL that you have done and all that you will do for my during my physical life. God, be with me and forgive me. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Bring it on!

Okay.....God's new calling for me has had me EXTREMELY motivated.....I created a facebook group. "Gays, Lesbians and Transgenders AREN'T GOING TO HELL."

Okay, Christians....bring on the problems.

(Lately, I have been very compassionate about the persecution that the homosexual community has been through, created by Christians who, essentially are afraid of them)

God has called me to help this group of people also.

So I am starting on facebook.

2nd Calling of God

Okay....most people that know me know that God has called me to be a missionary to Deaf people. That was a very interesting calling...he silenced my ears for a minute so all I could hear was God talking, then I could hear the world around me again.

But Thursday, God also called me to help another group of people that are persecuted by Christians...homosexuals.

I knew that God was interested in me helping them, but I thought in a minor way...God wants me to help them in the same manor that I am going to help the Deaf...which I think is actually going to be more of a challenge than helping the Deaf.

For many years I have been taught differently about homosexual people.
But through prayer and talking to God and praying...He has been telling me differently than what I have been previously taught...and its so heart -breaking to see how the Christ-like people are treating these people....SO UNCHRISTIAN-LIKE.....It makes God's heart break... :'(

So I vow to do everything I can, not only for the Deaf, but for the homosexual community and show them the LIGHT God has...and sadly, not the "Christians" are the WORST EXAMPLE EVER when it comes to the topic of homosexuality.

Reading Exodus again (something I haven't done in afew years...yes, I said years) I've noticed how God called Moses and although Moses did it with an exception (hopefully I won't) God still did AMAZING things for His people.

I am just honored that God, out of all the people who could have helped the Deaf people, that He chose me to be able to do it. (Yes, a HUGE responsibility....but it won't be me by myself.)



Lately, I have been doing some thinking,and there is a HUGE conflict in my personal beliefs, that contradict that other Christians have taught me...

What I was taught: Homosexuals go to hell

What I believe: Homosexuas don't go to hell...unless they don't accept Jesus as their savior...the Bible has never said "Homosexuals will go to hell"....although it is something that God points out that he just doesn't like.....He also just doesn't like sin.....and sin is all the same to God....so back to where we started from.....we all deserve Hell... (take some time to read Romans 3)

My point being...there is no reason why God would pick just one group of sinners to specifically go to hell. Yes, God expresses how much he doesn't like that...considering that He make us to "fit" a specific way.

And theway Christians treat them.....so sad :'( No wonder they don't like us.....we treat them so low!! (NOT WHAT CHRIST WOULD HAVE DONE)



What I was taught: Mormons are Christian

What I believe: I'm not so sure they are....yes, granted they do MUCH GOOD when it comes to helping others...but the Bible says that "fath is NOT by works alone." And the work that is done in the Mormon "Church" is for the benefit of the Mormon's soul. From my understanding of Mormon's and their work is that they do all these things for others so they can get into a better level of heaven so they can have more "spirit babies". First of all, there is no time in heaven to "get busy", it is spent worshipping the God that created us. So, I don't think that Mormon's are Christian.....and I know that a few of my Mormon friends think that I am going to Hell because I am not a part the Mormon church.

I know there are going to be people that are going to read this a be REALLY offended at my personal beliefs...but that's okay....I am taking a different approach to my faith.......LOVE THE SINNER AND HATE THE SIN..........although it is going to be hard...that's what God does.

Exodus 5
Israel's Labor Increased
1And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, "(A)Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, '(B)Let My people go that they may celebrate a feast to Me in the wilderness.'"
2But Pharaoh said, "(C)Who is the LORD that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the LORD, and besides, (D)I will not let Israel go."

3Then they said, "(E)The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go a three days' journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God, otherwise He will fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword."

4But the king of Egypt said to them, "Moses and Aaron, why do you draw the people away from their work? Get back to your (F)labors!"

5Again Pharaoh said, "Look, (G)the people of the land are now many, and you would have them cease from their labors!"

6So the same day Pharaoh commanded (H)the taskmasters over the people and their (I)foremen, saying,

7"You are no longer to give the people straw to make brick as previously; let them go and gather straw for themselves.

15Then the foremen of the sons of Israel came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying, "Why do you deal this way with your servants?

16"There is no straw given to your servants, yet they keep saying to us, 'Make bricks!' And behold, your servants are being beaten; but it is the fault of your own people."

17But he said, "You are (N)lazy, very lazy; therefore you say, 'Let us go and sacrifice to the LORD.'

18"So go now and work; for you will be given no straw, yet you must deliver the quota of bricks."

19The foremen of the sons of Israel saw that they were in trouble because they were told, "You must not reduce your daily amount of bricks."

God Promises Action
1Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for (T)under compulsion he will let them go, and under compulsion he will drive them out of his land."

Today, as I was driving home from my Symphonic Band class, I was worshipping God with my stereo just about as loud as I could stand it, God wanted me to slow down to 55mph (I was driving on the freeway). God wanted me to worship Him for an extra couple of minutes....and I can't blame Him....lately, my only worshipping has been driving to and from school and to work....pretty much only when I drive and at church. This Lent I am trying to spend more time with God.

Lent 2010: Days 3 and 4

I can't believe that my conscious effort to read the Bible everyday for Lent has already been broken on day 3 no less. (I guess 3rd time isn't a charm).

Anyway, yesterday (day 3) I was able to go see my grandmother, so I was VERY excited about that and I can have a family "going away" party at her house! (Which is totally awesome!)

But back to Lent.

So, this morning I read Exodus 3 and 4 to keep me on track for tomorrow. :)

The Burning Bush

2(D)The angel of the LORD appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a (E)bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed.

3So Moses said, "(F)I must turn aside now and see this marvelous sight, why the bush is not burned up."

4When the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, (G)God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am."

5Then He said, "Do not come near here; (H)remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground."

11But Moses said to God, "(R)Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?"

12And He said, "Certainly (S)I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: (T)when you have brought the people out of Egypt, (U)you shall worship God at this mountain."

13Then Moses said to God, "Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you.' Now they may say to me, 'What is His name?' What shall I say to them?"

Exodus 4

Moses Given Powers

1Then Moses said, "What if they will not believe me or (AP)listen to what I say? For they may say, '(AQ)The LORD has not appeared to you.'"
2The LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" And he said, "(AR)A staff."

3Then He said, "Throw it on the ground." So he threw it on the ground, and (AS)it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it.

4But the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand and grasp it by its tail"--so he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand--

5"that (AT)they may believe that (AU)the LORD, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you."

6The LORD furthermore said to him, "Now put your hand into your bosom." So he put his hand into his bosom, and when he took it out, behold, his hand was (AV)leprous like snow.

7Then He said, "Put your hand into your bosom again." So he put his hand into his bosom again, and when he took it out of his bosom, behold, (AW)it was restored like the rest of his flesh.

8"If they will not believe you or heed the witness of the first sign, they may believe the witness of the last sign.

10Then Moses said to the LORD, "Please, Lord, (AY)I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue."

11The LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or (AZ)who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD?

12"Now then go, and (BA)I, even I, will be with your mouth, and (BB)teach you what you are to say."

13But he said, "Please, Lord, now send the message by whomever You will."

14Then the anger of the LORD burned against Moses, and He said, "Is there not your brother Aaron the Levite? I know that he speaks fluently. And moreover, behold, (BC)he is coming out to meet you; when he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.
15"You are to speak to him and (BD)put the words in his mouth; and I, even I, will be with your mouth and his mouth, and I will teach you what you are to do.

16"Moreover, (BE)he shall speak for you to the people; and he will be as a mouth for you and you will be as God to him.

17"You shall take in your hand (BF)this staff, (BG)with which you shall perform the signs."

18Then Moses departed and returned to Jethro (BH)his father-in-law and said to him, "Please, let me go, that I may return to my brethren who are in Egypt, and see if they are still alive." And Jethro said to Moses, "Go in peace."

19Now the LORD said to Moses in Midian, "Go back to Egypt, for (BI)all the men who were seeking your life are dead."

20So Moses took his wife and his (BJ)sons and mounted them on a donkey, and returned to the land of Egypt Moses also took the (BK)staff of God in his hand.

21The LORD said to Moses, "When you go back to Egypt see that you perform before Pharaoh all (BL)the wonders which I have put in your power; but (BM)I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.

24Now it came about at the lodging place on the way that the LORD met him and (BQ)sought to put him to death.

25Then Zipporah took (BR)a flint and cut off her son's foreskin and threw it at Moses' feet, and she said, "You are indeed a bridegroom of blood to me."

26So He let him alone. At that time she said, "You are a bridegroom of blood"--because of the circumcision.

27(BS)Now the LORD said to Aaron, "Go to meet Moses in the wilderness " So he went and met him at the (BT)mountain of God and kissed him.

28(BU)Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD with which He had sent him, and (BV)all the signs that He had commanded him to do.

29Then Moses and Aaron went and (BW)assembled all the elders of the sons of Israel;

30and (BX)Aaron spoke all the words which the LORD had spoken to Moses He then performed the (BY)signs in the sight of the people.

31So (BZ)the people believed; and when they heard that the LORD (CA)was concerned about the sons of Israel and that He had seen their affliction, then (CB)they bowed low and worshiped.

God called Moses, but Moses didn't feel like he could do it...
Has there ever been a time or a calling where you were either asked by God and you didn't feel like you could do it? What about a really big favor from a friend of family member?

As of right now, God has called me to Deaf ministry...God eventually sent Moses with his brother Aaron...

Thinking about this passage, I have a question God...I know You are with me, but is there going to be a second person down here helping me?

The Birth of Moses
1Now a man from (A)the house of Levi went and married a daughter of Levi.
2The woman conceived and bore a son; and when she saw that he was (B)beautiful, she hid him for three months.

3But when she could hide him no longer, she got him a [a](C)wicker basket and covered it over with tar and pitch Then she put the child into it and set it among the (D)reeds by the bank of the Nile.

4(E)His sister stood at a distance to find out what would happen to him.

5The daughter of Pharaoh came down (F)to bathe at the Nile, with her maidens walking alongside the Nile; and she saw the basket among the reeds and sent her maid, and she brought it to her.

6When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the boy was crying. And she had pity on him and said, "This is one of the Hebrews' children."

7Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, "Shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women that she may nurse the child for you?"

Moses Escapes to Midian

16Now (P)the priest of Midian had seven daughters; and (Q)they came to draw water and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

I think I know why God wanted me to reread about Moses life....in so many ways I am like him.

I've never killed anyone.....but I have some anger issues that I deal with daily....anger was what drove Moses to kill the Egyptian...

And I have some speech/word problems....when I was a kid, I couldn't pronounce 2 letters of the alphabet....I had speech when I was 10 to be able to correctly pronounce those letters. I also have a hard time finding the right words to say and sometimes I don't have the concentration long enough to even finish...

But like Moses I was called to move a group of people...Moses was called for his people...I for the Deaf people. I am so excited to be able to read about Moses and all that he did over his lifetime and all that I can accomplish. I am excited because I was created for the purpose of being a missionary to the Deaf and I am eager to see how, at the end of my life here, all the wonderful things I was able to do for the Deaf people through God.

Lent 2010: Day 1

I am SO excited (I know I've said that before) about celebrating this season of Lent. I am excited, but a bit nervous because this is the last Lent I will be able to experience with my church home, because of my move to Idaho in July.

But this Lent, instead of stopping a bad habit I am trying to gain a new habit...reading the Bible daily....lately I have only picked up my Bible for church and for Bible study at school.....I am really hoping tat I am going to be able to (for 40 days straight) be able to read a passage from the Bible everyday...my goal is to blog what I read, partly to keep myself accountable, but also so you can see what God wants me to read.

"Gang" Fight

Today will be a day that will sit with my gut for quite some time...

Today, I woke up....got dressed....watched 2 episodes of an old TV show and I got ready for a 4 hour work shift...which went by quickly...

I got home at dark...excited that my family and I were goin' to Thunder Valley Casino.

Then my sister went outside to grab valentine gifts from my car and she comes back screaming "call 911, call 911!"

I went outside and a fight had broken out amongst some of my hispanic neighbors that lived 8 houses down.

I called 911....and reported the crimes...most of the neighborhood was out just watching....two other neighbors also called 911...

1 man threw children, punched and shoved women and beat one guy so bad that he had to go to the hospital...

1 thing that bothered me more than the fighting was the fact that the Caucasians on the street were just watching and talking amongst themselves and joking about it...

THERE WAS NOTHING TO JOKE ABOUT. (I've got new next door neighbors who will probably move out....they have small children)

For the last couple of years I had been telling people that I lived in the bad part of Lincoln. They said "There is no such thing as 'the bad part of Lincoln'."

1st street, between "O" Street and Joiner is a collection of apartments...fights and gangs do all sorts of crap there...the area is now just getting bigger. Now it's "R" street between 3rd and 1st and "O" Street to "Joiner"...

Father God, protect those that live in this area of Lincoln and those near that area of Lincoln. In Jesus name. Amen

5 months

Wow.

5 months to go until I move to Idaho.

5 months isn't a very long time...I've got some work to do.

Almost debt-free

I am S excited! I know it sounds silly, but it looks like I will be able to move to Idaho absolutely DEBT FREE.

I can't believe I ever put myself in a position that caused me to get into debt, but it is disappearing!! SO HAPPY!

4years later...

Oh my....I can't believe that it has been 4 years since my grandfather ended his journey here and is now celebrating in heaven.

At first, I was a little sad, but I knew when he died that he was with Jesus. I think about my grandfather ALOT, but one thing that helped me to realize that I wasn't going to see him until I got to heaven, I wrote this poem, which I am going to share.

Up There [Keeping an Eye of Each of Us]

We all went on our busiess,
As usual, in the early daylight hours
Of Thursday morning.

You were already
Up There.
Up there celebrating,
Up There keeping an eye on
Each of us.

As the dawn turned
Into morning and

The wildfire of your

Creativeness

I do an incredible amount of thinking and writing stories and poems. And lately I have been thinking about random TV shows and how if I was a writer for them what kind of stories I would write about...

If I wrote an episode of Criminal Minds I would get into Penelope Garcia's history and have her discover that she had a sister and that they were both adopted....her going with the Garcia family and her sister Juniper, who went with the McBride family.

If I write an episode of CSI: NY. I would spice things up between Stella and Sid...(hehe) and how much it bothers Mac that they are an "item" because Mac has the hots for Stella, but never told her face to face.

Okay, now my brain won't explode....haha....see how I am with too much coffee??

Anyway, that's for reading this almost pointless, but rather entertaining blog.

*Sigh*

This school semester has been off to a REALLY fast start. It seems like I've been in school only like a week, but his is the end of the 2nd week. I am not in a huge work load this semester, but with losing my math homework, I have been doing a lot of catching up...plus, misunderstood my 2nd assignment in Cultural Geography, so I got a 0 for that. :(

This semester I am taking 5 classes

Symphonic Band: I am currently 2nd flute....but the professor might move me to 3rd clarinet.

Beginning Piano: This teaches the absolute basics of music and theory and how to play cords and piano...very easy so far with my 10 years of music experience.

Cultural Geography: This has been an interesting class and I am looking forward to seeing the world through the cuture aspect. (Physical geography I took last semester had a very different outlook.

Nutrition and Life Fitness: I know that I need to eat better, and I don't know a lot about the science behind food and what's the best to eat....plus the PE is kicking my butt, which is REALLY good.

Elementary Statistics: I am re-taking this math class because I failed it 1 year ago and I need this as a requirement to graduate and get both my AA degrees. This time, however, I am taking it with the most popular and the most widely sought out Stats professor at Sierra College.


And, I also work on the weekends, so natrually, the days are flying faster than they have ever have before. I am getting an increase in hours also and I hope that keeps up. I am saving MOST of my FAFSA checks so that I can use the remainder of it for transferring to Northwest Nazarene University so I don't have to get into so many school loans.

It has been SO crazy that I haven't had a lot of time to think about the last 5 months of living in California....someone I hadn't seen in a long time suggested to me to throw a goodbye party. I hadn't given it that much thought...and I think that it is a wonderful idea....I'd probably have to have two/three parties....one for family who still lives here in this area.....one with my friends (growing up and school) and one with my coworkers....although probably no one will show up.

But yeah, life has been busy.....

Nervousness

Last night it finally hit me...I got nervous thinking about moving to Idaho...and that's SO weird. Hmmm....that's Devil, but you can go away and STAY away. I don't need you making my decision to following Christ where He called me.

Devil I have these words for you: STAY OUT OF MY WAY...I'M NOT AFRAID OF YOU...I'LL MAKE SURE JESUS SQUASHES YOU LIKE A BUG. :) :P

Haiti

We all just need to take a moment out of our busy lives to pray for those affected by the tragity that struck the country of Haiti (and those who are tied to that country).

Father God, I pray that you bring peace to those who are affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Father bless each mother, father, child, American and other peoples that live, work and are associated in any way with Haiti. Thank you Jesus and that there are survivors. In Jesus name. Amen.

1"(A)If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder,

I know most people wouldn't quote this scripture to today's society regarding Idols. But there is something I am certain: God still views idoltry the same way then in Moses day as He does now.
Just don't do it: that's as simple as that....although nowadays you may not idol with another god, you might do it with Facebook, Myspace, television...when you start to realize that you are idolizing things other than God, take time to pray and ask for forgiveness.....this is something I need to do right now.

My biggest thing right now is Family Guy.
Such a funny show to wind down and eliminate my stress, but when I lose my stress I don't pick up my Bible and read and meditate....I watch another episode or hop on Facebook or continue to write my novella which I am going to (maybe) start chapter 7 tomorrow.

Anyway...just remember....DON'T put ANYTHING before God.....God is a jealous God.

4 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.

Wow. 2010...

This year is finally here. If you have known me for pretty much any length of time you will know that I have been talking about this year for some time know. 2010 the year that I'm moving to Idaho to go to Northwest Nazarene University...

It's now officially 2010.

This is a serious time of reflection for me. Everything that I have said over the last couple of years; can I really put my feet where my mouth is? Can I really do what God is calling me to do? This is the year that God has been praparing for me and it's finally here.

Wow.


Father God, I ask you that you please give me the stregth to survive this year spiritually, mentally and physically. In Jesus' name. Amen.
